Is It Time To Look For A Vacation Home?

The housing market in early 2020 was negatively impacted with the COVID-19 lockdown. Since restrictions have loosened somewhat, we have currently seen a bounce back to a typical spring-like housing market. 

During the pandemic, travel has been limited and people have been forced to cancel their vacations. As restrictions further loosen up, there will likely be an upsurge in interest for vacation properties. Many home buyers are searching for a domestic escape. In addition, people’s work arrangements have also been changing. A portion of the workforce is now working comfortably from home. Many employers are also giving their employees the option to work from home permanently, which has prompted home buyers to reassess their living conditions. The idea of having a home as a place to work and to relax has become more of a reality.

Paint and Color Trends in 2021

Paint trends to watch for in 2021. Grays may now be considered too gloomy. The once-popular decorating color is being pushed aside in favor of more earthy and warmer neutral tones. The pandemic has influenced home color choices. Experts are saying Benjamin Moore’s Aegean Teal and Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze will be the most used color of the year for 2021.

TRREB Annual Scholarship

Each year, the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) grants $15,000 to four graduating high school students pursuing post-secondary education, including two $5,000 first-place and two $2,500 second-place scholarships. To qualify, students must demonstrate academic achievement, leadership skills and community involvement, plus, write a 1,500-word (minimum) essay on one of two timely topics. This year’s topics focus on the dream of home ownership and impact of a growing population on housing in the GTA.

The deadline to apply is 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021
