What Is MPAC Propertyline?

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is an independent, not-for-profit corporation that assesses and classifies all properties in Ontario. As a member of a local Real Estate Board, a REALTOR® typically has access to MPAC Propertyline, which is a database of real-time property information across the province.

Realtors can use Propertyline to access information such as: the legal description of the property, the year a building was built, lot dimensions, last sale amount (private, MLS® or exclusive), zoning, demographics, streetscapes, parcel and easement maps, property detail reports, assessment and valuation information, building details, and a comparable report.

The information contained in Propertyline is very helpful for consumers interested in buying or selling properties. A REALTOR® trained in navigating the Propertyline database can use the information in conjunction with the MLS® system and other resources to confirm important property data prior to drafting an offer.

If needed, Realtors can also obtain detailed reports on properties that include information such as floor areas, permits, real time AVM market values, business/commercial/industrial/farm reports, and market income property reports. This is especially helpful for unique properties or investment properties where additional due diligence is needed to complete a real estate transaction.

Realtors have extensive tools available to protect their client’s interests. An experienced full service REALTOR® will use Propertyline and other key resources to obtain the best price, terms and conditions for his or her client.
